In a world of electronic-music hit and runs, John Selway is a rare beast: an innovator and originator whose current work genuinely rivals his groundbreaking early projects. And while the DC-born, NYC-based producer and DJ has left his mark on countless styles, heís defined by none of them, remaining devoted to his own multi-faceted muse. These days, Selway is best known for the ecstatic rush of ìTotal Departure,î his top-selling single with partner in crime Christian Smith, and for CSM, his long-running deep and minimal label. But Selwayís roots run deeper than most. He helped spark the late-ë90s electro scene at the helm of Seratonin Records; he contributed to the early days of deep-house luminaries Deep Dish; he produced hard, acid-laced techno with Disintegrator and mind-bending trance tracks with Oliver Chesler (aka The Horrorist) in Koenig Cylinders; and he released a string of remixes with living legend Carl Cox. As a DJ and live act, John Selway has performed the world over.
As the driving force behind New York's infamous underground house music club: the Sullivan Room, SR SERGE's, (Sergei Sklyarenko) passion for cutting edge electronic music is unparalleled. He is the man who ran the show for over a decade. The result of his efforts have earned the Sullivan Room an internationally respected reputation. Weekly, DJs from across the globe performed in one of New York Cityís most intimate venues, with a customized Core Audio sound system. Serge's passion for music goes beyond hosting party events. Combined with his artistic wits, he brings the same knowledge and experience to the decks as a DJ and producer.
New York native Tristan Dominguez is known for profoundly fun sets that fill a dance floor with enthusiasm. His distinctive sound has gotten a lot of the right attention from club owners and party promoters over the years, making him a favorite among the people that like to keep a room full. From underground warehouse parties playing hard techno to intimate rooms playing warm sensual house, Tristan has proven himself to be a DJís DJ time and again.
Mitch Wells was the naked keyboardist in NYC's cult nerdcord band, the 2 Skinnee J's. Mitch was half of NYTQ, whose discography includes a jungle track on Smile Communications, along with remixes of Praga Khan and Lords of Acid. He worked closely with Trendroid on a variety of releases including Transpost 5. His single, "Where I", on Matthew Dekay's label was supported by the likes of Digweed, Zabiela, Oakenfold and Pete Tong.
